Sad Day

Today is my first day back at work. I am at work as a type this post. I should be working, making copies, putting my room back the way it was when I left it, getting ready for the rest of the week, figuring out what was taught and what wasnt...you get the point. But I'm not. I am sitting here thinking about my precious baby boy and how I wish I was at home holding him and looking at his sweet face. My mom is home with him this week. Thank goodness it was her spring break and she is able to help me transition back to what will be our new "normal". Ive texted and called her many times to check in. It's not Chance I am worried about. I know he is fine and having fun with his grandma. It's me. I know this is something most mom's have to do...go back to work, and I dont mind working. I just wish I could work and be with my baby all day. I am fine, I will make it through this. Everyone at school today has been sooo sooo sweet and supportive. I love my co workers. When I got to school my husband had a dozen roses for me and a very sweet note. Then I got a call after lunch saying I had a delivery downstairs. I thought what in the world could it be!! My best friend Ashley sent me chocolate chip cookies (wishing me a good first week back) that were still warm from Tiffany's Treats here in Austin!! Thank you Ashley they are wonderful and you are so sweet.

Enough of this...let's get to the good stuff. My baby boy is 10 weeks old as of yesterday. Here are some recent photos.

Wordless Wednesday

My lil man

is 9 weeks old today and look at this picture I got of him this morning. He had his 2 month shots on Thursday and he did soooo good. He weighs 13 pounds 13 ounces and is 24 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile on his heighth and weight. BIG BOY! Love my chunky monkey! Here are a few pics from the dr. that morning. of course these were pics before the dr. came in for the 3 shots he had to have. The dr. told me that he would be either sleepy or very fussy for me. He was sooo sleepy and such a precious baby all day. He is now on some acid reflux medicine. Hopefully this will help some.
We had a lot of company this week, family and friends and baseball games. Thursday some of our really good friends came to town, Courtney and Travis. We love you guys so much!! We had a great time and were so glad yall came to visit.

My family came up Thurs and we all went to dinner before the baseball game and mom, dad and Robin kept Chance while Dale and I went to the game.

Saturday Doug, Chance and I went to help celebrate Ashley's birthday. We didnt get to stay long but we had a good time while we were there. I am starting my last week home before I go back to work. :(

Spring Break!!

Yesterday my baby boy turned 8 weeks old. He will be 2 months old on Wednesday. Where has the time gone? I will blog more on my sweet lil man later this week. We had an interesting, TIRING weekend. On Friday, Chance and I went to his daddy's baseball game. He did so good until the end. Guess he was ready to go home, plus he and I were both covered in spit up. I did get a pic of him in his "Home Run" outfit. Again it was taken with my phone camera. After he screamed all the way home from the game because the hates the car so much I decided it would be a good idea to take my almost 8 week old on a 4 hour car ride to a wedding in Abilene. So my parents, Chance and I headed on this soon to be "longest car ride" ever! Chance was pretty good (crying here and there) on the way to Abilene. Once we got to the wedding and changed him into his precious wedding outfit the fussiness started. I didnt even see the wedding. Chance and I stood outside the church for an hour and then I decided I was going to go to the car. Well my dad had the keys in his pocket INSIDE THE CHURCH...I couldnt go in with a screaming baby. So the wedding planner (a woman I did not know) I asked her to hold him while I went to get the keys...now I was desparate because I would have never had a stranger hold my child. But I went in and got the keys from my dad as everyone is wondering what in the world I am doing. Needless to say Chance and I remained in the car as he cried the entire time. We finally decided his tummy really hurt because the only thing that would get him to calm down is laying him on his side. It was a long trip getting home at 1:30 am. Bless all of our hearts. I didnt take one picture... :( I'll have to dress him up again soon and take a picture when he isnt so upset. He has his 2 month shots this Thurs and that will not be a fun day.

This week is Spring Break for us. I am still out on maternity leave but hopefully Doug will be home some and we can all spend some time together. He does have games though Tues, Wed and Thurs. If the weather is nice we will for sure be partaking in some baseball! This past weekend his team won the championship. Congrats to my hubby!

On another note...a good note...my parents are moving!! My dad is now the new 5A HEAD football coach and athletic director for Seguin Independent School District. Hopefully we are moving there too so my mom can take care of Chance when I am working!! Fingers crossed!! :)

Molly Maid

Today I used my gift certificate that Doug gave me for Christmas and had Molly Maid come out and do a one time cleaning! My house looks amazing and of course makes me feel so much better! We have had a rough start to the week. On Monday the lady that was going to keep Chance when I go back to school BAILED on me. She has decided not to keep kids anymore. As you can imagine I was devastated and left in a bind. I immediately started praying that the good Lord would open another door. Today I met with another sitter and she is wonderful. When one door closes God has anothern even better door waiting. I left with such peace about my baby boy staying with her. She reminds me of the lady my brother, sister and I stayed with when we were growing up. Truly an answered prayer.

Also...Chance is 6 weeks old this week! He is growing fast and smiling and cooing...I love him so much! The dreaded day for me returning to work is March 29th. I am just enjoying the time home with him! :)
