WE ARE HOME!

We are finally home from the hospital.  Brooks was released from NICU on Tuesday afternoon around 4.  We are so grateful and blessed that our baby is better and home.  God is so good and this was an answered prayer.  The nurses and doctors that took care of my baby were wonderful and after being with all of them for 7 days we all bonded and got to really know each other.  Under the circumstances I was glad to have loving people around me and my sweet little boy.
On Monday is when Brooks made the biggest improvement.  He exceeded the doctors orders.  At 11 am they took out his feeding tube and he took his bottle amazingly!  At 11:30 the nurse was going to give him his first bath and asked the doctor if she could take the oxygen off for a few minutes while she washed his little face (he had so much tape on his little face just to keep the tubes in place) and he said yes lets see how he handles no oxygen (at this point he was at 21% which is room air but he still had to have pressure to keep his breathing down).  Brooks did so well that we never had to put the tubes back in and the rest of the day he did awesome.  Praise the Lord for his healing hand!

Look at his red face from the tape...but yay no more tubes!!

He is sleeping but so happy to not be hooked up to all those tubes and monitors

Then he came in and took a nap in the hospital bed.

Waiting on the discharge papers...

We are going home!

My heart is happy!
