Hair

2 posts in one day...However, I am really hating my hair right now.  I am wanting something different...but scared to do it.  I am really loving Jenny McCarthy's hair cut...love the bangs and how cute it is
If only I had her skinny face to do it!  I am wanting some low lights though too.  It's fall and I need a change.  Yet it is so hard to find a new hairdresser when you move!  :(  I havent had a hair cut since BEFORE Chance was born.  Yes...its bad.

Happy Friday!

Taking 10 steps...

This week Chance has taken at least 10 steps on his own.  He is trying more and more everyday to walk all by himself.  He is growing up way tooooooo fast!!  Tonight is a big football game for our family.  (who knew High School football would be our life...but it is...and we all love it.)  However, right now is a trying time being at a new school who isnt used to winning.  It's also hard having to sit in the stands and listen to others yell at your husband or dad out on the field when really if you think about it...it's their kids who have to execute the plays.  Tough Tough...
Our husbands jobs are at the hands of 16-18 yr olds.  We love Friday's, getting ready for the game, going out to eat, cold weather where you bundle up and sit close, yelling for your team whether its good or bad....  But we do love to WIN.  So if you are reading my blog today, pray for a win tonight.  Pray that the good Lord would give our dad and husbands the right words to say and the patience and strength to get through this season and TONIGHT'S game.  Big Big Rival...Big Big game for our kids...
GOOOOOOO  MATADORS!!!

And I will leave you with a picture of this precious, precious face...

Pumpkin Patch 2010

I took Chance to the pumpkin patch that the Methodist Church had and he wasnt too sure what to think! :)

I got a lot of pictures with this face (what is all this mommy?)
"OOOOOOoooooo...there are small ones just for me!!"

"Can I eat them?"

IT HAS ARRIVED....The BOB Revolution STROLLER!!!  Thanks to my mom she bought me an early Christmas present.  I have really wanted to start running again but didnt have a good stroller.  I am so excited.  So mom, Chance and I took it on a 2 mile walk yesterday afternoon.  Chance did so good (we had a talk as we were driving to the track.  I explained to him that Mommy needed to get back in shape and we got this new stroller that he will love, haha).  Until the end...when I had to transfer him from the stroller to his carseat (which he is not really into).  He screamed all the way home.  It was soo sad and heartbreaking.  We love the BOB mom/Nana...thank you so much!!

TEXAS RANGERS MADE IT TO THE WORLD SERIES!!
Chance is sporting his baseball attire

This is a random pic....but this is Chance Sunday morning before church eating some of mommy and daddy's cinnamon roll.  Apparently sitting in the highchair correctly isnt comfortable???  lol.  Isnt this too cute!?

Rangers OR Yankees

OK so at our house it shouldnt be a question of who we are going for in the playoffs to see who goes to the world series.  My husband is a die hard RANGERS fan but our lil boy might be a YANKEE fan
I dont know...Looks to me like he is trying to take the hat off??  (still so cute!)
Our house has been turned upside down with these playoffs.  Doug has both TV's going with the game on...he is either yelling at the TV or so excited that the Rangers are winning.  He has tickets for Game 7 if they make it that far and he also has WORLD SERIES tickets lined up if they make it.

Today is my sister's birthday!  Happy Birthday ROBIN!!!  We love you!!!  Thank you for helping mom take care of Chance each day!  My sister also just got her license to practice dental hygiene.  She is currently looking for a job.  We are so excited for her and proud of her!!

Tomorrow is my mom's birthday!  Happy Birthday TOMORROW MOM!!  Not sure I will be able to post tomorrow so here is your shout out now!!!  Tomorrow I am hosting the after game party (all the coaches and their families come to our house after the football game) so it will be a busy day.  I have been trying to get my house cleaned and ready to get all dirty again.  :)

Here are some pics of Chance that were on my cell phone that I wanted to upload because I think they are too stinkin cute!
He is so tired in the afternoons when we get home that he usually takes a nap, sometimes its 45 min and sometimes its 2 hours!!  This day it was 2 and a half.  He slept and I graded papers!
The quality of this picture is AWFUL I know but this was taken this morning when I was getting ready.  Chance was all snuggled up with his Daddy.
"Mommy feed me"
Another afternoon nap while mommy grades (hence the easy grader in my lap)
Mommy's snuggle bug after bath one night

Uncle Dragon

Uncle Dragon (aka my brother Dale) was home this past weekend.  This was Chance and Dale after church Sunday and Chance turned 9 months.
Daddy, Chance and Uncle Dragon - Chance is talking up a storm now.  I knew he would after we went to the doctor.  He is saying "da da da da da da da da"  all the time.  I will say "Ma ma" and he laughs and says "da da da"  How unfair is it that you carry your child for over 9 months, give birth and they say "da da" first.  :( So sad.  But it is sooo cute to hear him communicating.

Love Love Love this picture...Chance loves to clap.  You will say "yeah!!!..." and he just claps for himself all the time.
Gotta love the big green dumpster in the background!

Shoes

I was going through my phone and came across this one that was too cute.  We were in Gap a few weeks ago trying on shoes.  Chance has this thing with his left foot where he turns it in sometimes when he picks it up and when we put shoes on him he just thought they were so weird.  I was crawling around all of the floor trying to get these shoes on him.  (His head kind of looks bigger here...hahaha)

Then today my sister sent me this picture of Chance riding his new toy with NO HANDS.
Happy Wednesday!!

9 months/First Boo-Boo

Party in the Crib
Peek a Boo
Giving his G kisses.

Headed to Clear Springs for dinner (not sure why this picture will not turn the right way - I download it vertically and it turns to horizontal on its own)
Nana bought Chance a new toy for her house.  She thought he needed some new toys.  :)
He likes it!
When you feed Chance a bottle he likes to hold his leg out like this...he is too funny.  He loves to be tickled.  My Ma-Ma (My mom's mom) use to tickle our legs and arms.  We would always say "scratch MaMa"  We miss her so much and she would soooo love Chance.

Mommy love!

Chance had his 9 month check up this past Friday.  We had the day off from school due to our fall festival fair.  It was nice having a long weekend to spend at home.  Friday morning my mom, Chance and I drove into Austin to Chance's appt. and then spent the rest of the day shopping.  We also ate lunch at our favorite place - The Cheesecake Factory.  We were literally gone all day and Chance was such a trooper.  At his dr. appt. he was busy trying to walk and fell into the cabinet and cut his nose all up.  (Pics show his first boo boo).  Thank goodness we were at the doctor's office so she could check the swelling.  IT was awful.  I felt so bad.  Chance weighs 20lbs. 13 oz and is 29 1/2 inches long.  He is in the 65th percentile on weight and 85th on heighth.  He is in the 90th percentile on his head circumference.  I said "is that normal" and she laughed.  She said "yes, its his normal"  We dont even think he has a big head...haha!  It must be all that hair he has that makes the difference!! :)  The dr. asked if Chance is saying "ma" "da" or "ba".  He really wasnt saying these sounds.  He will babble and talk to you but not a big distinction in these sounds.  She said that since he is so advanced in his gross motor skills (i.e. trying to walk) his speech has taken a backseat.  We read and talk to him all the time but he is way to concerned with getting around everywhere.  So of course I was concerned.  I left the dr's saying "Chance say MaMA"  over and over...he would just laugh at me.  He knows he can say it he just doesnt want too.  Boy oh boy do little boys have minds of their own. :)  Personally I was thinking what 9 month old talks??  But then I come home and text some of my friends with kiddos and some said their kids were saying "mama", "dada" and "DOG" at 9 months...Some say that girls talk sooner than boys?  I am taking it that God makes all of us differently and there is a reason for that.  Chance will talk when he is ready to talk.  However, over the weekend...he started saying these sounds.  (Really he doesnt even turn 9 months til the 17th)  HE is just fine.  He is perfect!  Love you sweet boy.
Chance this is what you are up to these days:
Drinking about 24 oz of formula (some days more, some days less)
You love eating your cereal and fruit in the mornings.  You eat it like a champ!  (you still cannot stand peaches though - Nana and I have tried to get you to eat them several times but if it even touches your cereal you wont eat it)
In the evenings you eat better for me if I feed you around 5-5:30 opposed to closer to bed time.  (I can start feeding you more table food)
You are sleeping a little bit better.  Some days you sleep all night others you wake up once for a bottle.
You love your crib right now.  Re-phrase that - you love "playing" in your crib.  When I go to get you, you fall down and laugh or crawl from me.  I noticed yesterday that you have "knawed" the side of your crib with your teeth!!!  You lil stinker
You crawl so fast.  You like to play "im gonna get you" and you crawl faster and laugh.  It is so cute.
You can put your paci in your mouth all on your own (you've been able to do that for awhile now I just forgot to post it)
You also like to just chew on it as if it were a teething ring.
You bite (mainly your Nana and Aunt Robin, haha)
You love Yo Gabba Gabba
When I feed you your bottles (mainly in the evening when you are the most tired) you play with my earrings and it is the sweetest thing ever!!  Then you smile and makes your mommy's heart melt.
You can hold your own bottle....when you want too.  :)
When I go to get you from your Nana's in the afternoons you smile big and crawl after me - Mommy loves this moment (then there are some days when you have had too much fun with Nana and you are like "Mommy Who?"
You can sit up on your knees and balance really good.  I was watching you last night just sit on your knees and play.
You are growing way to fast!!

New Ride

We got Chance a walker.  He didnt know what to think at first.  We have tile and hardwood throughout the house so the walker doesnt get hung on carpet.  (I miss me some carpet though) Anyhow, he likes the walker until he runs into the couch or the door.  He hasnt quite figured out how to back up or turn around.  He will in time...

Not sure what this face was for
We also got him a learning to walk/makes lots of sounds and music gadget

I know all these pictures are the wrong side up but my computer wouldnt let me turn them.  I will work on turning them the right side up when I can.  But until then...just turn your head and see how cute he is walking with his new toy!

HE love it!

Then he thought it would be fun to turn it over and play with it upside down. :)

Us getting ready for bed one night.  Yo Gabba Gabba was on so he was ignoring the camera.
"Chance, Chance look at the camera..."

"mom stop it with the kisses"
"I love you too mommy"
"hello"
"Is this better mom"

Last night we traded in the old ride for a new one...
This car seat has been his ride from day one and now its time for his big boy car seat. :(
(hence the background - thanks to Aunt Robin who thought we needed a blanket held up for a background)

"What is this thing"
"Do I really have to ride in here"

He looks so sweet and little in his big boy car seat.  It took his Daddy forever to install it.  So funny but all these baby gadgets are kicking his booty! haha.  But he installs them and puts them together with lots of love. :)
